AI website creator
Mobirise AI takes a brief note about your business and turns it into four complete site designs, with text and images, that you then refine through chat or a visual editor. Free accounts get 3 generations monthly. Below: how to write the prompt and what to fix afterwards.

The AI website creator from Mobirise, in short
- Input
- A couple of sentences describing the site, in whatever language you write. You can also begin from a hand sketch or a screenshot of a layout you like.
- Output
- Four designs per prompt, each with written text and images. Every design is generated for your site, so you will not see the same layout handed to someone else.
- Free allowance
- The FREE plan allows 3 generations monthly. One generation builds a single page or a draft of a whole site. Pressing Regenerate shows other variants and does not cost an attempt.
- Paid allowance
- BASE gives 100 generations a month and GROW gives 1,000, both with premium AI designs. The counter resets every month.
- Time
- Expect a draft in under a minute, usually.
- Where it runs
- ai.mobirise.com in any browser, the Android app, and the Windows, macOS and Linux program. It is the same AI in all three, and it always needs an internet connection.
- Publishing
- Free for up to 3 sites at a mobirisesite.com address (HTTPS included, Mobirise branding shown). Connecting your own domain to our hosting takes BASE or GROW.
- Limits to know
- The AI writes placeholder copy and picks images that only look right. Real prices, opening hours, photos of your team and contact details still come from you.
Writing a prompt that gives a usable first draft
The AI fills every gap you leave with a guess. A short prompt is fine, but each missing detail becomes generic text you will rewrite later. Compare two prompts for the same bakery.
Weak: bakery website Better: Business: a family bakery in Leeds, sourdough and pastries, open since 2009. Audience: locals ordering cakes for birthdays and office events. Sections: menu with prices, custom cake orders, opening hours and map, reviews, contact form. Tone: warm and plain, short sentences, no slang. Look: cream background, dark brown text, photos of bread.
The first prompt names only a category, so all four designs will share stock wording. The second gives the business, the reader, the page structure, the tone and the colours, which is enough for drafts you can actually compare.
Say who the site is for
"Parents of toddlers" and "event planners" lead to different headlines, different calls to action and a different order of sections.
List the sections you need
Name them in sequence: services, prices, gallery, booking. Anything you leave out you will have to add by hand.
Describe the tone in a few words
"Formal, for lawyers" or "friendly, first person" changes the copy more than adjectives about the design do.
Write in your own language
You can write the prompt in any language.
Add one real fact
A city, a founding year or a signature product anchors the copy and stops the AI from inventing a vague story.
Mention colours or a reference
Two or three colours, or a screenshot of a layout you like, steer the visual direction better than "modern".
Keep one goal per page
A one-offer landing and a full company site are different requests. Ask for the one you need now.
Use Regenerate before rewriting
When no draft of the four suits you, regenerate first. It does not spend an attempt, while a new prompt does.
Which AI website builder to pick for your case
Most of the large builders now start with a prompt, and they differ more in what happens after the draft than in the draft itself. Mobirise is our product, so weigh our entry with some caution.
- Several designs to choose from, free to start, code you can take
- Mobirise: four layouts from each prompt, 3 free runs monthly, and the computer version writes plain HTML files on every plan, free included.
- A chat assistant inside a large all-in-one platform
- Wix: describe the site in a conversation, then edit by hand or with its assistant. The site stays on Wix servers.
- The lowest monthly price on long prepayment
- Hostinger: an AI first version from a prompt, from $2.99 a month when you prepay 48 months, on Hostinger hosting only.
- Designing first and paying only to publish
- 8B AI: it drafts an entire layout from one line of text for free; to go live you need Pro.
- Polished templates and strong image layouts
- Squarespace: its AI gives a personalised starting point; there is a trial but no free plan.
- Designers who want class-level control
- Webflow: the AI generates a site structure and theme, then you work in a CSS-style panel.
- A blog or content site on WordPress
- WordPress.com: its AI agent builds the first pages, but only on a paid plan and not for shops yet.
AI web design tools compared on price and output
The rows that matter after generation: how many drafts you get, whether the code can leave with you, and what publishing costs. Rows where other builders do better stay in.
| Mobirise | Wix | Hostinger | 8B AI | Squarespace | Webflow | WordPress.com | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Paid plan to publish | BASE $199 a year for custom domains; free subdomain on $0 | Light, $17 a month on yearly billing | Premium, $2.99 a month prepaid 48 months, renews $10.99 | Pro, $9 a month (annual) | Basic, $19 a month (annual) | Basic site plan at $15 monthly | Personal, $4 a month |

How we compared: pricing and support pages published by every provider, checked 13–16 October 2026, USD excluding tax, on annual billing where not noted. "Not stated" or "not published" means the provider's pages do not state it. Plenty of reviews repeat outdated prices, Squarespace's $16 among them, and pricing moves, so check the provider's page first.
What to check and fix after the AI draft
A generated site is a strong first draft, not a finished one. Plan on four passes before you publish.
Pick a design by structure
Choose among the four by the order of sections and the navigation, not by the photos. Images are the easiest part to swap later.
Replace every fact
Go through prices, addresses, phone numbers, hours and names. The AI writes plausible examples, and a wrong price on a live site costs more than an hour of editing.
Swap in your own photos
Generated images suit a mood, but customers trust real pictures of your shop, products and people. Mobirise converts uploaded images to WebP for you.
Preview on a phone and publish
Look at the page in each preview size the editor offers, phone to wide screen, then go live on a free address, a domain you own, or hosting you rent, the last one from the computer version.
For small fixes, ask in chat ("make the hero shorter", "add a price list"). For layout changes, the visual editor is faster: drag a block in, then set its spacing, background and columns in the parameters panel. Our guide to block editing covers that part in detail.
AI website design generator or a full site builder
Searches for an AI design generator often mean two different tools, and choosing the wrong one costs time.
An AI website design generator gives you a picture or a layout mock-up: something to show a client or hand to a developer. Some export to design files; few produce a site you can put online. That is the right tool when someone else will build the site.
A site builder with AI goes further. The draft is made of real, editable blocks, it already works on phones, and you can publish it the same day. Mobirise is this second kind: every design is a working Bootstrap 5 site, and the layout generator only spares you an empty canvas.
Should you want to keep working on your computer after the draft, Import by Link brings a site generated in Mobirise AI into the desktop app that keeps editing without a connection, where you can export the files and upload them to any host.
- Working code, not an image. Each draft is a Bootstrap 5 page with real markup, styles and scripts.
- Responsive by default. Blocks resize for small and large screens alike.
- Edit by chat or by hand. Both work on the same draft.
- Block-level AI on premium plans. Two block-level AI tools there create a new section or rework an existing one.
- Redesign without losing text. The Android app can restyle a whole site with a new theme, palette and fonts.
When Mobirise AI fits and when another tool is better
Good fit
- You want several directions to compare before you commit to one.
- You want an AI website builder free to start, with no card and a monthly allowance.
- You may want to move the site to your own hosting later and need the files.
- You build sites for clients and want a quick first draft to show.
- You work on a Mac, a Windows PC, Linux or an Android phone and want the same AI everywhere.
Look elsewhere
- Your current site was built elsewhere: Mobirise works only with projects it made itself.
- You need a separate phone-only layout. Mobirise blocks adapt automatically but there are no per-device controls; Wix and Squarespace offer them.
- You need web-app features such as user accounts or memberships. Hostinger's agentic mode targets those projects.
- You need more than 3 generations a month and do not want a plan.
- You work only offline: AI generation always needs internet.
- You need a native iOS app: none exists, so Apple phones and tablets use the browser.
AI website creator FAQ
Which free AI website generator has no time limit?
Yes. With a no-cost Mobirise account you get 3 AI runs each month, renewed rather than expiring. Up to 3 sites can go live on free mobirisesite.com addresses with HTTPS; those sites carry Mobirise branding.
What are the steps to create website with AI?
Open ai.mobirise.com, describe the business, the audience, the sections and the tone, and wait for four designs, typically ready within a minute. Pick one, change the details in chat or in the visual editor, replace the facts and photos, then publish.
What are good AI web design prompts?
The ones that answer five questions: what the business is, who visits, which sections you need, what tone to use and which colours you like. One real fact, such as the city or the founding year, makes the text noticeably less generic.
Does one generation make a whole site?
You decide whether it produces a single page or a draft of the full site. Regenerating for alternatives leaves your count untouched.
Can I get the code from an AI site for free?
The computer version of Mobirise writes out your markup, styles and scripts on all plans, free one too. In the browser, Site Export arrives with BASE and GROW. The free download for Windows, Mac and Linux is the simplest route to the files.
Where is the AI website builder download for a computer?
The Mobirise program, running on Windows 7+, macOS 10.13+ and Debian-family Linux such as Ubuntu, carries the same AI. Generation needs internet, but editing and previews then work offline. Mac users can read about the separate builds for M-series and Intel Macs.
Can I use the AI on my phone?
Android users can install "AI Website Builder: Mobirise" at no cost; it makes four versions from each prompt, translates sections and publishes to a free subdomain. Apple devices have no app, so visit ai.mobirise.com from the browser.
Which is the best AI website design generator?
It depends on what comes after the draft. If you want several designs and the code, Mobirise suits; if you want everything on one hosted platform, Wix or Squarespace; if you design in detail with CSS classes, Webflow. The comparison table above lists the differences we could verify.
Can I edit an AI-made site by hand?
Yes. Any design loads into the block editor: drag sections, type over text, replace pictures and tune each block. The paid Code Editor extension lets you change markup and styles directly; see our notes on editing what you see on the page.
Does the AI website creator online need an internet connection?
Yes. Generating, logging in and going live are online steps wherever you use Mobirise. Once a draft is in the desktop app, editing and previews keep working without a connection.
What does it cost to remove the Mobirise branding?
Any paid plan removes it. KIT at $149 a year covers the desktop app without AI generations or online sites; BASE at $199 a year adds 100 generations a month and 3 sites with custom domains. First orders have a 14-day money-back guarantee.
